Dr. Alka Mathur, Mental Health Program Director
Dr. Alka Mathur is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Affiliate Faculty for Stanford University. She currently serves as the Medical Director for the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System’s Telemental Health Program, where she manages the Telepsychiatry and Teletherapy programs, and runs the Stanford Psychiatry Telemental Health rotation.
Dr. James Wantuck, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. James Wantuck oversees the PlushCare medical program and PlushCare's 50+ doctors. Dr. Wantuck was formerly a physician at the Palo Alto VA. Before that, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Wantuck graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He lives in Redwood City, California with his wife, Sara.
Amy Kaplan, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with almost 20 years of experience. She has clinical experience in family and children therapy, at treatment centers and in her own private practice. Amy holds a Master of Social Work from California State - Long Beach. Amy is based in Tualatin, Oregon and is a licensed practitioner in both California and Oregon.
Dr. Mendelsohn was awarded a four years of scholarships at Harvard and received the award for best Latin thesis, “The Influence and Function of Tragedy.” Dr. Mendelsohn has done research in obesity-related mental health and the role of neurogenesis in the treatment of depression. Dr. Mendelsohn is based in Menlo Park, CA.

First sessions are 45 minute assessments by a board-certified PlushCare psychiatrist. Follow-up visits are 30 minutes. PlushCare psychiatrists are able to write prescriptions.
